Featured Organization: Cicatelli Associates Inc. (CAI)

Cicatelli Associates, Inc. (CAI) is a nonprofit organization that uses the transformative power of education and research to foster a more aware, healthy, compassionate, and equitable world. To this end, for over 35 years, CAI has worked with local and state health departments, federally-qualified health centers, community health centers, and Title X clinics across the country to improve the health outcomes of the communities they serve and strengthen the quality and use of sexual and reproductive health services, including access to long-acting reversible contraception (LARC). CAI is a nationally-recognized provider of training and technical assistance, with expertise in working with leaders, health systems, and community-based organizations to build effective, sustainable systems that integrate evidence-based practices and guidelines into clinical practice.

CAI's approach is built upon decades of experience and lessons-learned working as a capacity-building provider on the national, state, and local levels, including its serving as the National Training and Technical Assistance Center for the clinical component of the Office of Adolescent Health/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Teen Pregnancy Prevention Project: Integrating Services, Programs, and Strategies through Community-wide Initiatives; New York State Center of Excellence for Family Planning and Reproductive Health Services; and collaborating with the Contraceptive CHOICE Project to translate research findings into "real-life" practice using a comprehensive model, the Contraceptive Action Plan (CAP); among other projects. This approach also draws upon its team's extensive expertise in evidence-based, youth-friendly clinical practices; tiered contraceptive counseling; use of data and the principles of performance management to drive improvement; and understanding of health policy and the transforming health care landscape.
