Featured Organization: Institute for Family Health

The Institute for Family Health is a network of 27 community health centers throughout New York State. As a federally-qualified community health center (FQHC) network, the Institute provides high-quality, affordable health care for over 94,000 patients annually, regardless of the ability to pay. In addition, the Institute conducts community outreach and health services research in order to improve community health and eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in health outcomes.


  • Research and Publications: the Institute conducts research in a variety of key areas, including racial ethnic health disparities, patient-centered care, and women’s health. You may review their publications here.
  • Trainings: the Institute provides trainings to the next generation of health professionals through several family medicine residencies and Community HealthCorps.
  • Women’s Health Care: the Institute provides family planning, gynecological and prenatal care for women. Free IUDs and implants are also available at specific centers.
